Job Summary:
We are in the process of building an exciting new recording studio, multimedia creative space, events facility, and membership club called The Recording Club, located right in the heart of Santa Monica. Our facilities include our Live Room, our largest performance stage with a dedicated mixing room, our Recording Room, designed for high-quality audio recording and vocal tracking, our Rehearsal Room, ideal for rehearsing and recording live performances, and our podcast room, for capturing high-quality audio with up to four people. All rooms are equipped with Blackmagic Studio 6K Pro cameras, lighting, and state-of-the-art audio equipment. In addition to our state-of-the-art studios, we offer our members a fitness and wellness center, lounge, coworking area, and other amenities.
We're in the process of building out the rooms, wiring the gear, and setting everything up into incredible facilities for audio and video capture, events, wellness, and community. We are also working hard to build our membership base, streamline business operations, and automate internal systems for memberships and bookings.
We are seeking extremely talented, hardworking, organized, and resourceful self-starters who are excited about working in a fast-paced and exciting creative environment and being a part of our team as we lay the groundwork to become LA's best recording studio.
About the Role
- We’re looking for motivated, detail-oriented self starters to join our team as studio assistants. This internship is ideal for someone interested in the inner workings of studio operations in a fast-paced creative environment.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:
- The compensation for this role is $20 per hour IN STUDIO CREDIT, NOT CASH, which can be applied to the use of any of our four studios.
The hourly rates for our studios are:
- $90/h for the Podcast Room
- $120/h for our two smaller recording studios
- $180 per hour for our largest studio and performance space, the Live Room, which includes a dedicated mixing room
THIS ROLE DOES NOT OFFER CASH COMPENSATION. To compensate studio assistants for their time, we are offering $20 per hour in studio credit, which can be used in any of our 4 recording studios. However, we are a growing organization, and paid roles may be available for exceptional individuals who show a strong ability to handle responsibility and add value to the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and check in clients upon arrival to sessions or events
- Provide on-site support during sessions and events to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across the studio, including daily open/close procedures
- Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and inventory management
- Ensure a welcoming and professional environment by supporting client needs and offering high-standard hospitality
- Communicate effectively with the team to relay real-time updates, issues, or needs
- Support event setup and breakdown, including tables, signage, decor, and gear placement
- Help coordinate catering, kitchen prep, and cleanup before and after events
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional, friendly, and reliable
- Comfortable with fast-paced environments and multitasking
- Weekend availability preferred
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
- 21+ years of age (preferred)
- Bonus: experience with creative tools, hospitality, event production, or customer service
