The BMG Synch Licensing team fuels one of our most dynamic and prolific services, serving both our frontline and legacy writer/artist clients. We're the driving force behind securing synch opportunities for BMG's extraordinary music across a multitude of media platforms – from advertisements and TV/film to video games, apps, live stages, and beyond. As Sr. Coordinator, Synch Licensing your mission is to be responsible for researching and confirming our rights ownership while adeptly navigating the negotiation of synchronization license fees and terms with external production clients. Your responsibilities will extend to fostering transparent and efficient communication channels, both internally with BMG's esteemed writers and artists for contractual approvals and externally with licensees seeking synch quotes. Your work will serve as the bridge that connects various vital departments: with seamless collaboration spanning from Creative and Clearance to Rights and Royalties, you'll be at the heart of every synch deal's intricate workings.
Your Responsibilities
  • Negotiate synch license fees & terms with both internal and external clients and partners.
  • Research copyright and recorded rights information for BMG repertoire to aid in the facilitation of the clearance process.
  • Be an effective, clear, confident, and concise communicator over email, phone, and in-person.
  • In negotiating the many details of a given synch license, stay attentive to the details in all communication.
  • Regular internal collaboration to support consistency in BMG quoting across the larger synch industry.

Requirements

Your Profile
  • Previous experience and/or rudimentary understanding of synch licensing from either a music publisher, record label, music clearance company, production company, film/TV studio, network, music supervisor, rights & royalties, or coursework perspective.
  • Excellent music knowledge and passion for upholding the value of music in the synch space.
  • Able to navigate and effectively prioritize a heavy and fast paced workload.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Desire to engage and grow within a dynamic and team-oriented department.
  • Strong communicator in-person as well as via email and phone.

The Compensation
$50,000 – 60,000 per annum
The pay range listed above is dependent upon factors such as work experience, qualifications and business needs. In addition to the range above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and applicable benefits.
