Description

We are looking for a world-class Music Programmer from our Japan team. You will work on programming playlists and writing editorial for YouTube Music
As a Music Programmer you will:
  • Identify and substantiate playlist hypotheses, review the playlist basis the hypotheses and make amendments as needed
  • Be responsible for the daily content programming for JP music, specifically for Vocaloid and Utaite genres ( the history of Vocaloid music, knowledge of difference between Vocaloid producers, softwares and characters)
  • Build and maintain a large number of varied localized JP music playlists
  • Present and follow up on strategic and creative projects for JP
  • Build pitches for new playlists based on current or future prospects
  • Analyze data and performance indicators for the playlists you have built/updated and make informed programming decisions
  • Create attractive and efficient Japanese & English copy for the products

Requirements

What are we looking for?
  • Experts when it comes to the knowledge of artists, festivals, history, influencers, music – basically everything to do with the lifestyle in the region
  • A keen eye for music appropriate for different situations, and an ability to identify great songs to fit
  • Experience in programming music, and/or previous management level work in the music/entertainment industry recommended
  • Proficiency in English and Japanese, both spoken and written (editorial level)
  • Ability to work with and respond to data and analytics and Attention to detail
