TuneIn is seeking a dynamic Ad Ops leader with a strong background in results-focused metrics, ad product development, ad tech, ad trafficking, and optimization. The Director of Advertising Operations is expected to build a high-performing team that will establish the operational systems and processes that promote client success and maximize revenue. You will be aligned with Sales, Client Service, Campaign Management, and Programmatic teams, helping attain the next level in operational excellence while delivering key insights for senior executives. You will report to the Vice President of Operations and work closely with the sales leadership team to monitor and identify areas for revenue growth. You will be chartered with maximizing revenue growth through the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of go-to-market strategies, programs, systems/tools, and initiatives. The ideal candidate must have a passion for data-directed insights. What You Will Do:
  • Guide, train, and manage the Ad Operations Team while partnering with our sales executives to implement and execute all direct-sold ad campaigns
  • Implement processes, systems and standard methods to improve ad operations efficiency, consistency and performance
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering and Ad Systems teams to optimize our ad product offering
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify, prioritize, and develop the execution of strategic growth initiatives
  • Own ad campaign delivery, at-risk monitoring, discrepancies, optimization, and maximizing revenue recognition
  • Maintain the various reports for tracking revenue and inventory and surface insights and recommendations to our executive team based on data models and critical thinking
  • Create ad hoc reports and forecasting models to guide outcomes
  • Shepherd the rollout of ad trafficking changes, improvements and best practices
  • Manage Ad Ops team and evaluate current processes, while working to find areas for improvement to improve efficiency and team performance
  • Partner with Business Intelligence to automate regular reporting and advanced insights.
  • Monitor all ad inventory products to maximize return
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and optimization strategies
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory forecasts and provide regular updates
  • Build strategies to enable additional advertising revenue streams
  • Identify, communicate, and execute against opportunities for incremental revenue based on historical demand and seasonal influences
  • Assist in the evaluation of existing and new ad tech vendors
  • Maintain a positive attitude while being solutions-oriented

Requirements

What We Are Looking For:
  • 7+ years of Advertising Operations, digital advertising or equivalent experience in a digital media-focused role at a publisher or brand advertiser
  • 3+ years of people management experience including proper onboarding and training programs for new hires but also working to develop existing team members
  • Expertise in working with industry-standard ad tech platforms (Ad servers, Ad Exchanges, DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, verification, brand studies, research and data tools
  • Demonstrated experience in creative problem solving that results in positive outcomes
  • Experience working with ad tags. How to troubleshoot, read and implement them
  • Spreadsheet Master - proficiency in Excel, Sheets, Numbers (vlookup, pivot table, etc.)
  • Ad Trafficking experience
  • Comfortable organizing campaign data and reporting
  • Extremely proactive and highly organized, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple and varied campaigns/tasks in a timely manner
  • Programming and database querying skills are a plus (SQL, Tableau, Mode)
  • Experience with Adswizz, Applovin Max, & Magnite Ad Servers are a plus
  • Heavy consumer of audio content - news, talk, sports, and music
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited university, with a strong record of academic achievement
  • Technical degree not required, but strong technical aptitude needed to comprehend our ad tech stack. Tech-Savvy with some ability to interpret HTML, CSS, Javascript and mobile apps
  • Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, identity and data ecosystems
  • Critical thinking and prioritization that demonstrate data focus combined with sound qualitative judgment
  • Expressive written and verbal communications with a knack for clear articulation of customer problems. Ability to interact with C-Suite and executive level
  • High degree of executive fluency including Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Conflict Management, Self-Awareness and Relationship building.
