Description

Listen is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team to help seek out and successfully secure new business across sonic branding, product sound design, and audio content. Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and strategic thinker who can proactively seek out and pursue opportunities, functioning as a Listen brand ambassador with prospective clients. We welcome folks with music industry, design studio, and/or brand and marketing agency experience who are able to gather business leads, develop business partnerships, and help us to grow our business pipeline. This role requires a deep understanding of creative agency RFP processes, a proven ability to build consensus among stakeholders both external and internal, and the ability to work autonomously on certain aspects of client outreach, communication, proposal creation, PR, and follow through.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Support and work with Listen’s Executive Creative and Strategy Directors across all tasks related to new business pipeline
  • Manage and support team in growing relationships with prospective clients
  • Maintain sector-focused outreach plan with custom collateral materials; where materials do not currently exist, work with Listen project teams to develop
  • Drive creation of proposals and decks, managing creative, strategy and production teams’ input as needed, and lead internal review process
  • Work proactively to generate new leads
  • Respond to new business inquiries and RFPs from prospective clients; both in coordinating the development of new and custom materials for the specific needs of the enquiries and RFPs, and, developing decks based on qualifications and pre-existing case studies
  • Manage prospective client communications including email correspondence, meeting scheduling, and presentations
  • Ability to take initial business calls that set up executive strategy and creative director for subsequent pitches
  • Engage in landscape and business research for new opportunities
  • Contribute to internal marketing to support lead generation
  • Manage sales marketing tasks, along with input from staff as needed

Requirements

Experience & Skills:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts, business development, operations, production and/or similar role with proven experience managing multiple client accounts and working closely with production teams
  • Demonstrated excellent skills in communications, both managing conversations with prospective clients at top-tier companies, and, internal team members
  • Proactive mindset regarding internal processes; openness to evolve and improve to ensure best-in-class delivery and set the team up for success
  • Demonstrated skills in management of brand partnerships and/or sponsorship projects
  • Proficiency in developing client-facing presentations in Powerpoint or Keynote
  • Strong proficiency in researching industry contacts and trends
  • New business mentality, able to find and create opportunity through personal network; entrepreneurial mindset towards continually growing and maintaining connections
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to work independently while meeting and maintaining internal processes and protocols
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital and social platforms
  • Demonstrated understanding of project workflows; ability to manage own work in this structure
  • Previous experience in a creative sales position will be advantageous.
