Job Summary:
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is seeking an Associate Music Director, Arranger and Musician who is well-versed in various musical styles. This role will work closely with musician-leaders in the Atmosphere music groups in creating new arrangements for various offerings across the Resort. This role requires extensive experience in Music and/or Vocal Direction, as the candidate will need to conduct rehearsals with musicians and vocalists. This position requires strong time management, capable multi-tasking and people skills, as well as the ability to assimilate into a fast-paced corporate team environment. The qualified candidate will be under the supervision of the HKDL Music Director and will work closely with him, as well as the Creative Director, in the development of new products, as well as ensuring consistent musical quality across the entire Resort.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the creation of live and recorded music for the property, composition and production of music
  • Work closely with Creative Director and Music Director in the development of new entertainment product
  • Show Quality Maintenance, ensuring consistent musical quality across the entire Resort
  • Conduct rehearsals with vocalists and musicians
  • Music arrangement and Band transcription for the Disneyland Band, Main Street Musicians and the Disneyland Hotel Band
  • Oversee, develop, organize and maintain a music resource library

Requirements

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science, but Master’s degree is preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience with artistic and technical musical expertise related to practical music skills pertinent to the music industry
  • Field of Study/Area of Experience in Music Production is required
  • Excellent musicianship skills; ability to sight read, transpose, arrange and compose music in a variety of styles
  • Possess a practical knowledge in the areas of labor agreements, music business contracts, music licensing, sound design/reinforcement, post-production processes, and the specialized audio systems unique to the Resort, such as the Parade audio system
  • Knowledge of Pro Tools, TDM Plugins, Pro Tools S6 modular control surface, Avid S3 digital mixing console, Logic Pro X and Sibelius Notation Software
