Become a part of our Statement Operations team, nestled within the dynamic Royalties department. We are the backbone ensuring the accurate processing and timely delivery of hundreds of millions of dollars, from thousands of sources, and comprising billions of data points, to our valued songwriting and publishing clients.
As a vital member of our newly remodelled Statement Operations team, you'll play a crucial role in its establishment. Your responsibilities will include meticulously delivering statement packs to all clients, each quarter, managing non-standard contractual accounting obligations, addressing client inquiries, and overseeing royalty reprocessing. You'll engage with diverse stakeholders and gain exposure to various facets of our business. WHAT DOES A STATEMENT OPERATIONS ASSISTANT AT KOBALT DO?
  • Working closely with the wider Royalties team and other stakeholders across the business under the guidance of the Assistant Manager to help ensure effective, accurate and timely statement delivery to publishing clients.
  • Reprocessing royalties that require correcting, this will involve isolating affected royalties from our database (using SQL) and reconciling accounting differences.
  • Execution of non-standard contract obligations e.g. calculation of overrides, cross-recoupment payments; through the retrieval and analysis of large datasets.
  • Ensuring best practice is documented and maintained so colleagues have the information and direction they require to solve problems arising from statements.
  • Triaging, actioning and Investigating incoming requests from key stakeholders pertaining to the team.

Requirements

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • You possess intermediate to advanced level Excel skills as well as working knowledge of SQL and are confident manipulating, managing, analysing, and comparing large data sets.
  • You enjoy multitasking and know how to employ effective time-management, prioritisation and planning techniques to complete projects to deadlines.
  • You enjoy delving into complex problems to find answers.
  • You are self-motivated, results-focused and with a proven ability to perform and improve processes.
  • You have meticulous attention to detail
  • You have strong communication skills, are keen to learn from others and have a willingness to ask questions.
  • You are eager to learn new processes and suggest improvements and/or automation
