Job Summary: We are seeking a Staff Accountant who will have strong accounting knowledge and operational experience and be able to work on journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and the implementation of GAAP financial reporting. The candidate will have uncompromising attention to detail, a positive, proactive, curious, team-focused attitude, and a strong sense of ownership. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are also essential. The candidate will be integral to the accounting and finance team and needs to be an enthusiastic and hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Identify, develop, implement and document accounting processes to improve productivity and scalability
  • Actively drive the month-end close process, including:
  • Prepare journal entries, including working with other departments to ensure completeness of accruals and proper revenue recognition
  • Prepare account analysis and reconciliations, including fixed asset ledger, deferred revenue and prepaid schedules
  • Prepare cash flow statements and projections
  • Reconcile monthly bank, credit cards, and petty cash accounts
  • Maintain A/R sub-ledger, including aging schedules
  • Work with external auditors on the company’s first annual year-end GAAP audit
  • Assist with special projects including budgeting and ad-hoc reporting
  • Assist with the design and implementation of proper internal controls to ensure a high degree of completeness and accuracy of the financial statements
  • Perform profitability analysis, settlements and reconciliations by project
  • Support tax accountant to comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements

Requirements

Your Strengths include:

  • Working knowledge of the Intacct accounting software package
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and v-lookup formulas
  • Superior organization, attention to detail, ability to quickly synthesize and analyze data
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment

Your experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles gained from auditing experience with a recognized public accounting firm
  • Additional corporate accounting experience a plus
  • Agency, Advertising, and/or Live Events experience strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred
