Senior Manager, Artist Partnerships (Hip-Hop/R&B)

The Music team is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to support TikTok's Hip-Hop and R&B music strategy. The ideal candidate should be a rock star who is excited working in fast-paced environments and on multiple projects simultaneously. We are looking for individuals who are resourceful and solution-oriented, bring positivity to the work environment, are not afraid to attack ambiguous problems. You will be responsible for understanding the emerging music talent ecosystem, as well as identifying key established artists to work with.
Responsibilities
- Lead artist and manager partnerships building, maintenance with established and emerging artists, and identify collaboration opportunities (with the Label Partnerships team).
- Internally advocate for and champion the needs of the Hip-Hop and R&B artist community with key XFN stakeholders.
- Observe, follow and predict the trends in the local music industry, and work closely with the editorial teams for amplification.
- Work closely with other teams to coordinate music content campaigns and initiatives.
- Drive, measure & analyze performance against key engagement metrics
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in music partnerships, community management, media, and marketing
- Experience in a partner-facing, A&R, or promotion role at a label, artist management and/or digital music company
- Strong artist relations experience working with top tier talent across Hip-Hop and R&B]
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships externally and internally
- Knowledge of the digital music and content distribution industry
- Must have a TikTok account and a strong understanding of content types on the platform
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel, presentation software, and the ability to learn required business systems
- Exceptional relationship building skills and established connections with artist networks necessary to encourage the growth of TikTok
- A team player who can lead efforts across music; capable of working calmly and quickly in high-stress environments and are solutions-oriented.
- Deep understanding of the creative process of music creation from composition to production.
- Ability to navigate and execute through ambiguity and drive momentum for new projects and ideas.
- Ability to quickly and deeply understand the fundamentals of a new business and the core areas of growth.
- A Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
