Senior Live Music Booker
Description
You’ll develop the programme in an exciting, innovative, and commercial way. The venues have a strong concert history that we are looking to build on and evolve.
You will:
- constantly evaluate the venues market and identify opportunities to curate new music / genre specific nights suitable for all the venues
- Proactively develop, negotiate and deliver the strongest possible Music, Entertainment, Sport and Comedy content into the arena.
- Alongside the General Managers, have responsibility for delivering or exceeding the number of music shows budgeted for, ensuring that the delivery is also reflected in the profitability of the events
- Work alongside the AEG Presents Touring team to fully realise any opportunities for new shows and / or longer term projects with upcoming artists
- Negotiate the best venue hire deals possible and deliver long term contracts in line with agreed targets.
- Maintain excellent relationships with promoters, agents, and managers, proactively enhancing the profile of the venues within the industry through regular updates.
- Understand the venue cost base to present ideas for approval to enhance the venue reputation and ultimately deliver a profit
- Work closely with the wider Operations, Ticketing and Marketing teams to ensure a successful event for the artist, client, and venue
- To budget for all show activity and liaise with finance team to ensure budget sign offs and show settlements are completed.
Requirements
- You will need to have an awareness of market trends and competitive elements within the industry, including other venues and potential clients. This also includes responsibility for enhancing the venue’s live music programme with a focus on contemporary artists / acts.
- We’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience of sales delivery in a high-profile music venue, with a strong track record of securing high quality content.
- You will have proven experience in curating / booking music content, have relevant and proven relationships with high calibre industry contacts; and be commercially astute with an understanding of budgets.
- To be successful in the role, you must be able to identify opportunities for the venues to increase the number of music shows they hosts through a combination of work with promoters and agents, alongside self-promoted shows and music genre nights.
- You’ll have proven people management skills with an ability to motivate and coach to get the best out of people.
- You'll be an effective communicator with the ability to influence your team and provide positive and constructive feedback for their development. You'll create plans to ensure you and your team's goals are achieved; and delegate tasks to grow and develop your people.
- You’ll build strong relationships with internal teams and encourage cross department teamwork; and also forge and maintain good working relationships with promoters, agents, and artist managers.
- You’ll be solutions focussed, agile and proactively engage in continuous learning and development.
