The Sales Campaign Strategist will utilize understanding of multi-media assets to create large-scale and compelling local and regional programs that win business. This position will lead collaboration, ideation and development of strategic marketing programs for local and regional advertising clients supporting iHeartMedia sales team. This position is Burbank-based and reports to the Director of Sales Operations.
The Sales Campaign Strategist will assist the team with creating cross-platform media plans that:
  • Meet Advertisers’ objectives
  • Yield measurable results
  • Drive ad revenue.
The role will include the creation of plans that feature that will encompass all or some of iHeart’s assets:
  • Iconic live music events like iHeartRadio Music Festival, Jingle Ball, iHeartRadio Music Awards
  • Seasonal/cultural programs: Black History Month: Living Black!, Can’t Cancel Pride, etc.
  • Broadcast radio across 158 markets + Premiere Network
  • Influencer marketing from our roster of on-air and podcast talent
  • Podcasting
  • Digital Assets
Responsibilities:
  • Support team in the development of clear client media briefs based on a thorough understanding of each clients’ business/brand objective, KPIs and success metrics.
  • Obtain additional data via 1st or 3rd party research to help inform the recommended media strategy
  • Develop an optimized topline media plan including the iHeartMedia platform mix and weight levels using proprietary planning tools
  • Create a consolidated Excel summary plan upon receiving individual cross-platform plans from iHeartMedia divisions (Premiere Networks, Digital/Podcast/Social, Local Spot, etc.) to be shared with Sales and other relevant internal teams
  • Assist in creation of sponsorship templates based on programming support provided by National Programming Group, pricing & experiential elements from the Event & - Experiential Partnerships team and required media spend
  • Provide standard sponsorship package plans to Sellers upon request; assist team in customizing sponsorship plans as needed for select key accounts
  • Responsible for preparing and maintaining reports for sales schedules and inventory
  • Assist in the creation of effective go to market tools for the sales team
  • Support the revenue team by reviewing and analyzing pipeline opportunities, pricing, fill rates, revenue forecasts, and other revenue trends as needed
  • Collaborate with the research team to develop unique insights for advertisers and top industries and create proactive and strategic proposals
  • Respond to Sales requests about inventory, ad products, creative specifications, and research

Requirements

  • Knowledge of all basic media math and media research techniques
  • Passion/enthusiasm for Media/Advertising such that you independently stay current on developments/shifts in media landscape
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Superior organizational skills, analytical & detail-oriented approach to projects
  • 0-2 years of advertising/media planning experience - multi-channel media (Digital & Broadcast) experience and/or relevant education/coursework/internships
  • Preferred experience including radio planning or sales marketing, account strategy or media agency experience
  • Understanding of brand story telling through the lens of strategic partnerships and media
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop design
  • Experience with developing and managing successful, large-scale marketing strategies, programs or campaigns
  • Understanding of research metrics and ability to apply them to strengthen client proposals
  • Outstanding project management and performance measurement skills
