Royalty Analyst
Description
- Participating in the MLC royalty cycle through analysis of data at critical points in the process starting with ingestion of the data through to issuance of statements and payments to our Members
- Analyzing large volumes of data and sample data throughout the process for anomalies
- Conduct Internet research
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Reviewing and analyzing individual and consolidated distribution reports by DSP and Member by ensuring Member amounts are reasonable and accurate
- Checking works matched to members to validate anomalies
- Reviewing new payees, first time payable payees, and denoting safe payees
- Reviewing member registrations for reasonableness
- Reviewing Member statements for accuracy
- Working closely with Rights Management/Publisher Relations to provide results of the data analysis
- Documenting the review process and continually looking for ways to improve and make it more efficient
- Providing details to finance and accounting to support changes to member accounts
- Other analysis that may be identified as the process evolves
Requirements
- Two years music publishing experience in a copyright or royalty role
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high productivity environment with tight deadlines
- Be eager to learn new skills and concepts
- Comfortable working in a start-up where you will help define the process
- Experience working independently with the ability to multitask
- System savvy and expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel (i.e., V-Lookup, If-Then statements, Pivot Tables, etc.)
- Experience working in roles requiring high analytical ability, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills
- Resourceful, flexible, and demonstrates exceptional teamwork skills
- Ability to identify and escalate situations effectively
- Willingness to work overtime if necessary, to meet deadlines
