Description

RCA Records is currently accepting inquiries and resumes for the recording studio and content hub manager position. We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to keep our team of technicians and employees, as well as our studio space, operating at a professional level. The studio's success will count on the studio manager's understanding of the unique demands of each session. We look to hire an individual with strong interpersonal skills who is flexible and capable to meet with the demands of the technology and client interface.
What you'll do:
  • Maintain functionality of the studio space for daily use
  • Book and manage day to day studio schedule including opening and closing studio, directing setup for sessions, ordering and trafficking equipment and gathering and preparing client service requests and needs
  • Develop systems and procedures for new location
  • Greet clients and give studio tours as needed
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure facility is in compliance with Health and Safety Standards; document condition and any needed updates or repairs
  • Assist with studio branding and marketing activities
  • Maintain calendar for use of studio space, including managing requests for booking sessions and equipment
  • Manage the studio budget (facility and equipment) and oversee all accounting operations and invoicing. This includes sending, tracking and reconciling invoices with clients, vendors, technicians and additional studio-related operations and services
  • Interface with internal and external A&R, producers, engineers, artists, artist management, marketing and sales teams etc.
  • Prepare and distribute all reports including but not limited to, session reports, utilization reports and variance reports
  • Responsible for maintaining all equipment within the studio, including establishing a schedule for regular maintenance, managing repairs, ordering replacements, and overseeing upgrades of studio equipment
  • Hire and manage studio personnel, including but not limited to security, engineers, freelance runners, other creative and technical staff
  • Coordinate outside equipment rental

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years relevant experience; previous studio experience, both managerial and technical, preferred
  • Ability to manage and multitask in a fast paced changing environment
  • Familiarity with studio equipment and knowledge of new music technology, equipment and trends a plus
  • Self-starting, resourceful collaborator with strong ability to identify problems and create solutions
  • Understanding of music production from inception to delivery of final product
  • Proven high-level customer service experience and ability to handle complicated situations with respect and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing schedules and budgets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to lift equipment as needed
