Project Manager - Music Industry
Description
- Onboarding clients and catalogs through digital rights team onboarding YT assets or initiating the back catalog transfer
- Serve as the primary point of contact for artists. Including but not limited to: booking travel and accommodations, maintaining schedules, day-to-day management, and streamlining communications for artists and their respective projects
- Gather deliverables and communicate clearly and efficiently with artists and management in regards to project submissions and deadlines
- Work closely with internal Accounting team to ensure artist royalty payments and payments for marketing services are completed in a timely manner
- Manage projects across multiple channels for artists: create and maintain project timelines and budgets, track activities on projects and establish a clear path of next steps and responsibilities, facilitate relationships between artist stakeholders for project execution (e.g. digital marketing teams, creative services, label/distribution partners, booking agents, brand partners, publicists)
- Collect and distribute all assets across internal departments (A&R, radio, press, syncs/licensing, executives, distribution, management) and be in constant communication with the internal stakeholders to ensure the efficiency of all processes for the client/product
- Collaborate cross functionally with business departments to ensure operational efficiency for the client
- Update and maintain project timelines using team project tracking software and calendars
- Work with A&R team to coordinate music clearances for single and album releases as applicable, video content; assist on music licensing opportunities
- Potentially oversee D2C marketing and overall merchandising, including brainstorms and execution
- Brainstorm ideas for sessions, branding, DSP opportunities, etc
- May be responsible for creating album marketing plans and implementing artist development strategy. Including but not limited to: identifying audience targets, planning and executing activations, maintaining overarching album marketing budgets, analyzing impact of marketing drivers, developing artist narrative, cultivation of cohesive brand presence and ancillary revenue streams.
- Ability to contribute to ongoing digital marketing initiatives such as: tracking WW growth across artist social channels, ensuring digital/PR is securing site premieres for single audio and music video releases, coordinating content pieces, etc.
- Potential for assisting with commissioning video and photo content such as: music videos (i.e. director selection, treatment and budget examination, on-site execution, buy-out agreements/contracts, final cut review and edits), LED and/or projected screen visuals for live shows, press photos
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Music Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 2+ years experience in a similar role in music or entertainment preferred
- Advanced understanding of digital platforms
- Expert, native user of social media platforms and familiarity with social media listening tools
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once at a high volume
- Strong attention to detail
- Expert time management skills
- *Strong interest & experience with Pop and/or EDM genre is a plus
