The Role: Project Manager – Gator Product & Marketing
Gator is adding an exciting new role and great opportunity for an energetic and creative Project Manager to work for a leading company in the Musical Instrument industry. Every day we have the exciting mission of transforming market opportunities into amazing new products. Our team provides end-to-end idea to market services for Gator’s family of brands, as well as many high-profile OEM customers. Averaging more than 200 new products per year, we work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment where our team is challenged to use our abilities of design, analysis, and creative problem solving to offer new products and product enhancements to build value for our brand and customers.
We are looking for the right candidate to join our team as Project Manager. This role will work across multiple departments to coordinate new product related activities with Product Management, Marketing, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. The position reports to Gator’s VP of Operations and is located in our Tampa, FL headquarters.

The Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for end-to-end project management
  • Ownership of project governance and decision gates
  • Managing project schedules, resource assignments, and capacity
  • Monitoring and providing feedback to team members regarding adherence to standard processes and workflows
  • Creating project baseline schedules in Gator’s project management software tools
  • Providing project status and risk reports to stakeholders across departments and leadership team
  • Working with Product Management to confirm Business Case and specification documents are complete at project initiation
  • Facilitating kickoff meetings, project status, and exception meetings on a weekly/bi-weekly cadence
  • Working with Industrial Design Manger and Product Managers to review product designs for accuracy with product specifications & requirements
  • A hands-on role with supplier pricing, documentation, and samples to ensure team is proceeding within product specification & scope
  • Organizing activities related to NPIs across departments. This includes preparing checklists and documentation and facilitating meetings to bring teams in alignment for commercialization steps
  • Closing out projects and making appropriate recommendations based on lessons learned

Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ Years’ experience as a Project Manager
  • Proficiency with Product Management tools and methodologies (PMBOK Guide, STAGE-GATE, NPI process)
  • Experience with MS Project, WRIKE, Asana, and other Project Management Software Tools
  • Complete Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Preferred Skills and Competencies
  • PMP Certification strongly preferred
  • Background in music or consumer products Can clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and perform in a cross functional team environment
  • Creative problem solving
  • Knowledge of quality management, supply chain, and manufacturing is a plus
  • Knowledge of Musical Instruments/Pro Audio gear is a definite plus
