About ABC Classic
We love classical music and the role it plays in people’s lives. As a music based entertainment network we keep our listeners company with trusted presenters and great music. We meet them where they are at with a soundtrack to their day. A mix of favourites and exciting new performances and compositions from across the classical music spectrum, whether it’s from film and TV, concerts from our excellent Australian orchestras and performers or overseas ensembles, or music being written today by a wide range of composers across the world. We are a friendly and motivated team that love getting classical music out into the world, expanding our audience and making them feel part of the ABC Classic family. These are rare roles, with a focus on independent and motivated work making content and helping presenters to support beautiful music and fun and exciting ABC Classic campaigns.
About The Role
Do you love classical music? We’re looking for two skilled radio content makers and producers - one to work in Sydney and one in Melbourne, with our presenters and program teams to turn the world’s greatest music into great radio and digital content for classical music lovers around Australia.
In This Role, You Will
  • Produce daily and weekly programs
  • Support the production of voice tracked programs
  • Work with the EP Programs and presenters to develop and produce broadcast content
  • Produce interviews and other packages for on-air and online platforms
  • Plan and produce outside broadcasts and special events

Requirements

About You
You’ll be someone who knows their classical music, who knows about contemporary radio and digital production, and is across changing needs and habits of media audiences. You should be excellent at team-work, planning, communication and having creative ideas.
You Will Also Have
  • A good understanding of the audience and the strategic direction of ABC Classic
  • Ability to produce online content that engages and builds the target audience
  • High-level interpersonal and motivational skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated communication skills and the ability to confidently provide feedback to presenters
