Description
- Built great relationships with your presenters and the wider Radio X Programming team.
- Taken ownership of the technical running of the on-air studio during drivetime.
- Edited and published the weekly podcast.
- Contributed and implemented exciting mechanics in answer to commercial briefs.
- To technically operate all studio and portable recording equipment for one of Radio X’s flagship shows.
- Produce any audio required for broadcast.
- Edit and publish a weekly podcast.
- Find and audition on air contributors.
- Produce show promos.
- Develop and implement show features and commercial activity.
- Record and edit interviews and other pre-recorded material.
- Direct on-air talent when needed.
- Collate and archive listener interactions for later use on air.
- Compile highlights of the show for release on digital platforms.
- Prepare John Kennedy’s Xposure Daily for broadcast and Global Player.
Requirements
- Quietly-assured technical skills, able to not only run the studio desk and Zetta playout system, but also portable recording equipment and editing software like Adobe Audition.
- An ability to think on your feet, creatively responding to on-air content in a bid to elevate its production values.
- Understated confidence, with the ability to get the best out of big personalities in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment.
- Strong communication skills – able to collaborate with and direct on-air talent, contributors and other production staff to bring ideas to life on air, often to tight deadlines.
- Emotional resilience to work in stressful, live broadcast environments.
- Good problem-solving skills to deal with any technical issues that may arise during the show.
- Attention to detail to ensure consistent high-quality work is being produced.
- Great written English.
- A pride in your creativity, full of great ideas and an ability to stimulate others too.
- A passion for the content and music on Radio X and an acute awareness of how to engage our core 25-44 target demographic across multiple platforms.
- A good knowledge of broadcast law and OFCOM guidance.
