Producer/ Editor
Description
- Write, shoot, edit, and publish video and digital content across multiple distribution platforms
- Tell compelling stories through video in a way that is factual, engaging, and audience-focused
- Edit in a variety of formats including digital episodes, vertical videos, gifs, teases, promos and sizzle reels
- Create motion graphics for projects in the video department and content division
- Ensure that content adheres to public media standards
- Collaborate across departments to ensure all content remains on brand and on message
- Strategize how to reach appropriate audiences through networking and community partnerships
- Incorporate written and verbal feedback throughout the production process
- Use data and feedback to adjust production and distribution strategies
- Value, contribute to, and sustain WFYI’s commitment to representing the rich diversity that is our community and amplifying the stories that represent the experiences of all
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Production, Journalism, Communications or related field
- 3+ years’ professional video and/or audio editing experience
- Experience working with public media content with an emphasis on music, arts, and cultural programming styles, standards, and values preferred
- Digital portfolio or samples of previous work
- Excellent computer skills: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Avid, Mac and PC operating systems
- Creative mindset with the ability to collaborate with others
- Professional and punctual, always meets deadlines and is respectful of colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to work and problem solve quickly and independently with little supervision
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines under time constraints
