Principal Technical Program Manager
Description
- Manage programs that entail multiple product and engineering teams in a cross-matrixed organization, to deliver complex, high-quality product features and systems integrations.
- Build strategic and trusted partnerships with our Product Teams, Engineering team leads, Technical Project Managers, as well as with other organizational stakeholders, ensuring alignment with dynamic and evolving business needs.
- Accustomed to working with third-party integrations that involve both external and internal dependencies.
- Manage risks, measure and report on progress, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs with technical constraints in order to provide timely updates on project health to a cross-functional audience of executive technical, business, marketing, legal, and operations stakeholders.
- Relentlessly execute on both a strategic and tactical level.
Requirements
- HBO in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of practical project and program management experience in a technical industry, preferably within digital streaming services within the EU.
- IPMA-C certificate (or comparable) and/or Prince-2 practitioner, then that is an advantage (but not a requirement)
- Proven track record of leading multiple complex programs across organizations (product, engineering, marketing, legal, operations), establishing trust and accountability while building strong relationships across such boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, lead, and document outcomes of meetings that will guide discussions between cross-functional product, engineering, and other teams.
- Comfortable with changing specifications and standards, and leading the team to deliver through ambiguity.
- Excellent project management skills, combined with a strong business judgment, and the ability to break down program blockers and influence team members towards negotiation and resolution.
- Demonstrated experience using Jira, Confluence, and other project or product management tools.
- High business acumen, information seeking, influencing and communication competencies, effective at presenting to senior management, executive level.
