Amazon’s Cross-Channel, Cross-Category (XCM) organization is currently seeking a Media Strategist to lead our media, planning and execution in the US working together with our Amazon Music (AM) brand team on campaigns tasked with shifting brand perceptions of Amazon Music within primary audiences. This role is a part of the Media team based in Seattle and will partner and collaborate daily with the Music team based in Seattle and LA.
Your focus will be on media planning, optimization and performance analysis across digital (audio, online video, display), digital partnerships (sponsorships, content integrations, on site activation) and oversee social media planning. You will bring a data-driven mindset to help determine the optimal channel mix for Amazon Music, managing media agencies and other partners, to achieve their goals. You will work to establish and implement best practices and work closely with measurement to ensure AM media plans are measured and optimizing toward success, with guidance from your media manager and Amazon Music.
This role can sit in LA or Seattle!
Key job responsibilities
  • As an Amazon Media Manager, you’ll deliver multimedia campaigns by:
  • Acting as the primary contact for Amazon Music’s media agencies in the US
  • Working with agencies to produce impactful and cost-effective media plans
  • Inputting into portfolio and investment models
  • Partnering with other Amazon media managers to leverage overall investment and insights across the team
  • Ability to synthesize data and clearly articulate campaign results and generate media briefs
  • Developing test and learn scenarios to continue to innovate and expand media mix
  • Managing budgets and timelines for media campaigns and partnerships
  • Preparing monthly budget forecasts for media spends
  • Monitoring and analyzing key media buy metrics (CPP, CPM, CPC, etc.), quality, and performance
  • Establishing post-buy audit and optimization efforts to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the media plans
  • Working alongside and media planning team on regional/ projects
A day in the life Working cross functionally between XCM and Amazon Music to extend best practices for Music media, work closely with business team at Amazon Music to refine media objectives based on business goals and work with agencies to activate campaigns to align with goals.
About The Team Amazon Music is a fun, culture brand that embraces different view points (even diverse tastes in music) and loves to dig into hotly debated topics and focus on improving process and measurement. XCM media has a strong comradeship as experts in media, purview into company guidance and a supportive culture. You will be working between each group in this role, focused on Amazon Music media, but within the XCM team.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years relevant professional experience in communications/media, media planning or media buying
  • Advanced proficiency in excel and word
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Clear communicator of ideas: written and verbally
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency in excel and word
  • Experience using industry media planning tools and 3rd party research such as Nielsen, Kantar, iSpot, Numerator ComScore, Sizmek/Google (ad serving), etc.
  • Media experience at brand or agency, ideally with large scale budgets
  • In depth understanding of media principles, tools for planning and buying
  • Ad serving and digital/social programmatic buying experience or past visibility a plus
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and excel in lean work environment
  • Comfortable to be proactive, seek opportunities to learn independently and from others
  • Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of coworkers
  • Comfortable reaching out to external teams for support
