Manager, Front of House Operations
Description
- Support the Operations Department, specifically the front of house (FOH) team, supporting when necessary, and often leading independently for assigned festivals on the Insomniac calendar.
- Manage and oversee all departments that fall under Front of House; including but not limited to – ADA, Box Office Operations, Exterior Operations, On-Site Amenities & Services, Shuttles, & Wayfinding.
- Collect quotes, estimates, and invoices and oversee the FOH budget for festivals and work in partnership with the production finance team to maintain up to date information for Festival Producer and executive team review
- Work closely with production finance team to quote out and order all FOH operational assets
- Oversee all FOH load-in operations, which entails making sure all the load-in materials are in place to carry out the proper procedures for applicable FOH teams and vendors
- Oversee advance process for all FOH vendors, teams, and staff including Credential, Parking, Meal, and On Site Assets requests, via festival database
- Work with Site Production to ensure all FOH departments and vendors have enough workspace on-site while also effectively designing all production and site bone yard compounds
- Design festival credential plan with Back of House Manager and Box Office Manager
- Communicate with IT lead to make sure all RFID portals and deployment are in tandem with the credential plan
- Work closely with traffic management team (and other exterior operation groups) to find solutions for all festival parking and traffic plans
- Co-Manage Health & Safety (Police, Fire, & Medical) and Security budget with Health & Safety for Finance team reporting and tracking
- Support the H&S/Security team with necessary equipment and staff logistic coordination on-site
- Ensure that the traffic and/or parking plan for is executed and maps and instructions are properly communicated to all working staff, artists, and Headliners, via BOH, Marketing, or other applicable channels of communication
- Work closely with signage team on ordering, designing, and placement of festival wayfinding signage, and general FOH signage elements
- Coordinate guest shuttle operations with various shuttle companies to ensure a smooth integration into the festival traffic and parking plans
- Work extensively with BOH Operations (Staff) team on implementation and on-site tasks when needed
- Partake in site walk-throughs to become familiar with the developing site plan while keeping a strong focus on the proposed FOH operations plan
- Ability to lead multiple vendors and team leads within the FOH Ops department.
- Brainstorm new festival experiences and operation ideas
- Stand in for Festival Producer when necessary for meetings, walk-throughs, etc.
- Submit invoices to accounting for all operational assets and track on settlement files
- Frequent travel will be required (economy)
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in event and festival planning
- 2 years of people and team management experience
- Proficient in budgeting, reconciling and analyzing event operations excel spreadsheets
- Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
- May work in drastic temperature climates
- Must be willing to travel to work during evening, holiday and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
