About the Job:

This position is part of Beatport’s Label Relations team and account management, whose primary function is to grow the local market in-line with Beatport’s Mission and companywide objectives. This position is responsible for working closely and regularly with our US accounts to develop opportunities that are mutually beneficial and aligned with our marketing and merchandising objectives across all of Beatport’s properties (e.g., store, LINK, DJ, Hype, Beatportal, and live streaming). The Label Manager Coordinator is responsible for fostering existing business and working as a Junior Manager for all assigned content suppliers (label and aggregator partners) in a support role to the L.A based Label Manager. Over time, there may be the opportunity to manage and develop bigger accounts in accordance with our marketing and merchandising objectives.
This is a relationship position that requires excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills. You need to be able to analyze situations easily to be able to connect the dots in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is experienced in stress management situations.

Job profile:

  • Serve as Label Relations to assigned and newly introduced labels/suppliers.
  • Connect label partners to appropriate teams within Beatport to address queries, concerns, and issues.
  • Provide support and Liaise between Artist, Curation, Content Ops, Design, Marketing, and Media teams on all cross-platform initiatives.
  • Maximize both Beatport’s and supplier’s businesses by securing exclusive content, monitoring activity to ensure all business terms are being followed (i.e. exclusive content is only available through Beatport); monitoring the release frequency and relevance.
  • Secure content licensing for new initiatives.
  • Be responsible for the quality and measure of content performance and completeness for all assigned accounts.
  • Actively pitch Beatport products to your accounts
  • Coordinate logistics ahead of summits/conferences. These include meeting coordination, guest list, discount codes, travel arrangement and venue location.
  • Prepare agreements in accordance with bespoke supplier requirements and work with Beatport legal resource to generate and approve contracts.
  • Update Beatport internal account database.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Deep knowledge of Electronic Dance music.
  • Must be organized, persistent, and focused under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills while enjoying verbal communication on the phone and Zoom calls.
  • Minimum 2 Years experience in the music industry
  • Understanding of the digital music marketplace and supporting technology
  • Knowledge of electronic music history and the current state of the industry
  • Experience dealing with labels, artists, suppliers, and aggregators
  • Proficient in Google Docs, Asana, Zendesk, Content Management Systems
  • A&R music industry experience highly desired (record label, physical or digital distribution network)
  • Experience dealing with labels, artists, suppliers and aggregators
  • Strong organization and administrative skills in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to speak multiple languages. Excellent English is essential, German is desired.
  • Ability to be a team player while being able to work independently at the same time

It would be great if you:

  • Have worked in a similar role for an entertainment / media / music company
  • Have been an electronic dance music label owner
  • Love electronic dance music. Djing and producing is a plus
  • Experience working with data visualisation tools such as Looker or Tableau or equivalent software
  • Digital marketing experience is a plus.
