About the Team
Global Content: Music is the vertical that aligns the Strategy, Business Development, Partner Management, and Program Management functions to articulate and execute TikTok's Global Music strategy in close partnership with regional and local teams in all markets.
About the role
The Label Manager is someone who enjoys building and amplifying relationships with globally relevant Labels and their teams. This external facing role will require engaging with local teams and external partners to push the needs of the vertical forward and secure productive outcomes for all parties involved. At its core, this is an operational role that requires great interpersonal skills, strong coordination, and an ability to anticipate partner needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-touch relationship management through the communication of content best practices and education on how to optimize performance and evangelize across all territories.
  • Point person for all major global labels, provide information and develop comms strategy on how to best work with all labels locally.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-touch TikTok partners in music content categories by developing customized analytical strategies.
  • Support the Business Development team as they negotiate and execute partner agreements to unlock differentiated outcomes through partnerships.
  • Increase partner content quality, platform engagement, and audience growth, as well as analyzing individual and overall creator performance.
  • Solicit, organize, and contextualize product feedback from creators and support with data.
  • Represent TikTok as best in class in the content creator space, building our reputation as great partners in music.
  • Provide strategic and hands-on support to regional teams for priority artists and partners around key moments, such as onboarding and album release, to further deliver best-in-class service.
  • Develop key strategy on how to maximize label partnerships across all Bytedance products.
  • Outreach, onboarding, and partner management efforts with identified global artists on TikTok, in collaboration with regional teams.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of work experience in an external facing partner role or artist facing experience in TV/media or Internet, working with labels and artists teams.
  • Deep understanding of the Label, Artist and Music ecosystem.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, and the ability to serve as a spokesperson for TikTok
  • Comfortable providing customer support over the phone, email/web, and in-person at events
  • Willing to travel to visit partners, attend events, etc.
  • Team player, strong people skills, and ability to engage on all levels of the organization. Must embrace that team wins are the goal and not personal accolades.
  • Proven track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, strong attention to detail, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
