Noise Pop Industries seeks a well-rounded and experienced leader to fill an essential leadership role managing the full scope of Noise Pop-related business.
This position is responsible for oversight and guidance of all Noise Pop Presents-branded public events as well as the WHTLBL private-label consulting services business, and will report to the CEO and managing partners.
Noise Pop Presents encompasses all the public-facing events and shows we undertake to produce and market ourselves, from the flagship Noise Pop Festival and large-scale events like 20th Street Block Party to the hundreds of club concerts we promote annually at over two dozen partner venues we work with. WHTLBL business includes all work done on behalf of or in conjunction with other parties such as the Cal Academy Nightlife series, SF Park Alliance’s Sundown Cinema or Fort Mason FLIX.
The NP General Manager will drive, define, and execute the NPI business strategy with support from the CEO, managing partners, and Director of Business Development. Successful candidates will have an intimate knowledge of the event production lifecycle from conception, budgeting, booking, marketing to production and settlement, a creative yet analytical mind, and superb interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to work in a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail is essential, as is a flexible and adaptable mindset and quick learning aptitude. You will be fully engaged and busy from the first day and we promise there will never be a dull moment.
Responsibilities include
  • Manage the NPP and WHTLBL lines of business to meet mutually-agreed business goals.
  • Identify new business and partnership opportunities and develop relationships and strategies to expand and grow.
  • Managing the booking, marketing and production team efforts and related processes, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Ensure a quality, diverse, relevant and profitable line of business promoting select shows throughout the year at partner venues, including oversight of booking strategy, budgets, marketing, production, and artist and guest experience.
  • Plan and oversee all aspects of NPP and WHTLBL special event needs, including timelines and budgets, talent and experience planning, marketing and art themes, staffing, sponsorship fulfillment, partner relationships, and settlement.
  • Oversee the growth and continued success of the Noise Pop brand and its audience, working with the Noise Pop Marketing Manager to ensure a consistent high level of content and experience quality with a focus on diversity, inclusiveness, and pushing the boundaries of our music and arts culture community.
  • Ensure that Noise Pop Shop, Patreon, Gift Cards, and other initiatives are kept up to date and current.
  • Hire seasonal part-time staff and contract workers for special events and initiatives.
  • Manage staff and run team meetings.
  • Work with Director of Business Development and DoTheBay team to integrate sponsor activations and fulfill production and operational needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments in the live event, festival, experiential, and brand marketing spaces.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in event promotion and production
  • Minimum five years management and leadership experience.
  • Strong budgeting and spreadsheet skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Google Apps Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
  • Technical fluency with social media platforms, digital advertising, ticketing platforms, etc.
  • BA or BS degree in Business Administration, Entertainment, Marketing or relevant field
  • Strong understanding of and enthusiasm for the Bay Area music and arts culture landscape
