About The Role
The New York Times is looking for a dynamic and proactive member of our administrative team to support our leaders and teams who develop our website and mobile applications. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the department, promoting a positive work environment, and maintaining a high level of confidentiality. You have a "roll up the sleeves" attitude.
You will be the primary support on everything administrative, and you'll be a partner working with the leadership team in ensuring the operations of the organization.
This is a hybrid position based in our New York City headquarters, reporting to the Mission/department head. You can typically expect to come into the office three days/week.
Responsibilities
  • Manage fluid calendars, appointments and travel arrangements and proactively manage changes and conflicts
  • Support large-scale event planning and activities
  • Maintain Department Org Charts, Distribution Lists, Team Lists, Seating Charts, T&E Budget, Department Purchases
  • Create Knowledge Management Documentation (ex: onboarding, hiring plans, headcount management)
  • Handle a high volume of requests from internal and external stakeholders, including answering inquiries, resolving problems, and making appropriate referrals.
  • Help prepare presentations and documents for leadership teams and guide presentations in meetings
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
  • You will report to the Executive Director, Operations

Requirements

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years experience providing administrative support for a senior executive.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Prior experience in a tech organization

The annual base pay range for this role is between:
$75,000 - $90,000 USD
