Director, Content Production (Video & Social)

Concord team

Description

As the Director, Content Production (Video & Social) , you'll be responsible for transforming marketing objectives into must-watch, engagement-driving video and social content. Partnering with our Marketing, Social/Digital, and Creative Services teams, you’ll map out strategic content roadmaps—and, when timelines demand, roll up your sleeves to create assets yourself—while steering the end-to-end production of long-form and short-form pieces that re-energize artist legacies, broaden reach, and deepen fan interaction on every platform.
What you’ll do:
  • Collaborate with marketing, social, digital, and artist teams to shape visual content strategies that bring each artist’s story to life, deepen fan connection, and drive discovery.
  • Maintain a living content calendar for larger campaigns and always-on artists.
  • Partner with marketing leads to scope each deliverable—such as trailers, lyric videos, mini-docs, TikToks/Reels, vinyl spinners, and more—and shepherd assets from concept through final export, on time and on spec.
  • Draft crystal-clear creative briefs for the in-house Art/Video team and external creators, detailing concept, references, script, specs, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Leverage the in-house Art/Video team for high-touch or longer-lead projects, while handling quick-turn edits (cut-downs, templated series, and similar) yourself to keep timelines tight.
  • Safeguard brand consistency, ensuring every asset aligns with the label brand guidelines and any artist- or campaign-specific style guides.
  • Ideate, script, and cut/brief snack-size content for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and Spotify Clips—loop-friendly hooks, trend-driven edits, quick caption overlays, and engaging memes.
  • Develop plug-and-play content series (templated videos and graphics) that can be refreshed quickly to tap into trends, cultural tie-ins, and milestone artist moments.
  • Version and optimize every asset for its platform—dialing pacing, captions, and audio for TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, Spotify Clips, paid ads, and DSP placements.
  • Manage and mentor the Social Media Manager on asset creation workflows, QC, and best practices.
  • Track emerging formats, creator tools, and trends; pilot new ideas and share actionable insights with the team.

Requirements

What you’ll need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts or related discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience required.
  • Portfolio power. Minimum 7+ years producing social-first video for music, entertainment, or lifestyle brands, with standout work across TikTok/Reels/Shorts and longer pieces like music videos, trailers, or mini-docs.
  • Hands-on skills. Confident editing and basic motion work in Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, or a comparable suite; able to tweak graphics and captions without waiting on a designer.
  • Platform fluency. Knows best-practice and engagement levers for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify Clips, paid ads, and DSP visuals.
  • Insights-led mindset. Comfortable digging into watch-time and engagement metrics—then translating those findings into sharper hooks, better pacing, and next-round optimizations.
  • Music nerd cred. Solid grasp of music history and genre storytelling, with the ability to pitch visuals that reflect cultural context while appealing to younger audiences.
  • Team mentorship. Experience mentoring or supervising a social-media-focused direct report; sets workflows, gives actionable feedback, and guards quality control.
  • Collaboration chops. Diplomatic with artists, managers/estates, and internal stakeholders; balances creative vision with multiple approval layers.
  • Trend radar. Curious about new creator tools, AI/motion templates, AR filters, and meme formats; tests ideas, measures results, and shares takeaways.
  • Organized under pressure. Juggles overlapping deadlines and keeps content calendars, file structures, and hand-offs tidy.
  • Detail obsession & agility. Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at high quality under tight timelines.
