How You’ll Make An Impact
The Catalog Curation team is seeking a Curator III, Catalog & Metadata to help maintain the consistency and quality of SiriusXM + Pandora's rapidly growing content catalog. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, thrive in collaborative team environments, and have a deep understanding of the music ecosystem, including knowledge of various genres, artists, and music trends. You must be a fast learner with strong communications skills. As a key contributor, one of your primary responsibilities will involve ensuring correct artist attribution, validating, and editing large volumes of music metadata with speed, precision, and accuracy. This will include verifying descriptive metadata at the artist, track, and album levels, conducting self-directed research as needed, and integrating information across spreadsheet applications and internal content management systems. Your role will be instrumental in upholding catalog integrity, ensuring that published content adheres to internal standards and guidelines, with a focus on improving the listener experience.
What You’ll Do
  • Metadata curation. Correct content metadata as it’s imported into the curated catalog – verifying the accuracy of automated imports and validation of artist, label, and track information as needed.
  • Content Mapping. Match and reconcile existing content with newly received incoming content, controlling for content duplication and normalization.
  • Catalog Quality Assurance. Ensure that the quality of catalog content meets SiriusXM+Pandora’s standards and adheres to internal guidelines. Work cross functionally to help identify and remove undesired content as required.
  • Content Operations. Expedite, process and validate album releases through SiriusXM+Pandora’s content pipeline – from initial ingestion to product ready.
  • Metadata Maintenance. Maintain the integrity, and key functions of the metadata in the curated music library by troubleshooting and resolving issues caused by incorrect or inconsistent metadata.
  • Special Project Work. Support special projects related to upcoming product launches and content systems improvements as needed.

Requirements

What You’ll Need
  • 3+ years’ experience working with content metadata at a media streaming service, digital collection, or the equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience in the music ecosystem.
  • Eclectic musical interests.
  • You possess a high degree of knowledge specific to one or more popular music genres, preferably Latin, Hip-Hop, and/or Country.
  • Power user of Pandora and/or SiriusXM apps.
  • Knowledge of the MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience with Google Sheets and related apps.
  • Apple Mac-savvy.
  • Experience in data asset management, libraries, or digital collections.
  • Knowledge of music metadata and content distribution.
  • High degree of knowledge about the history of recorded music and how people enjoy, discover, and engage with music.
  • Ability to use web-based resources to research music content quickly and accurately.
  • Experience with spreadsheet applications.
  • Demonstrated skill at processing information quickly and precisely, with a high attention to detail.
  • You are a fast learner, an excellent communicator, well-organized, and team oriented.
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Available to work for 40 hours a week.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Skill with writing database queries in SQL.
  • Capable of reading and writing in Spanish and/or other languages in addition to English.
  • You possess a high degree of knowledge specific to one or more popular music genres, preferably Latin, Hip-Hop, and/or Country.
  • Power user of Pandora and/or SiriusXM apps.
