Based in Buena Park, CA, Studio 60 functions as an in-house creative agency for Yamaha musical instrument and audio/visual products. We are looking for a hands on Creative Director who can set the creative vision and lead the in-house team from ideation through implementation, elevating the brand and sharing our passion for music and sound. The successful candidate is a thought leader with expertise in all facets of the creative process and channels of execution. The Creative Director will bring proven experience of leading and inspiring creative teams to deliver work that amplifies the brand’s purpose and fosters deep connections with consumers.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead the strategic and concept direction for creative projects, across all consumer touchpoints
  • Develop and manage the creative strategy and day-to-day work, ensuring brand and message consistency across all consumer touchpoints
  • Holds self and team accountable for high quality work, ensuring the team meets deadlines and delivers on the creative brief
  • Lead, motivate and inspire continued growth of team’s creative strategic mindset and technical capability
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across the organization and effectively communicate the design and brand philosophy
  • Partner with Studio 60 leadership to set priorities for team and collaborate with internal teams including, but not limited to, Operations Account, Media, Digital Development and Analytics.
  • Support the team in presenting ideas to the internal client as needed
  • Perform tactical functions such as updating WorkFront with comments and approvals and perform other duties as needed

Requirements

HERE'S WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:
  • BA/BS degree required
  • 10+ years developing and executing integrated and innovative marketing campaigns; ideally for leading consumer brands
  • 5+ years of proven experience leading and managing creative teams to drive breakthrough results
  • Prior advertising agency or in-house agency experience
  • A deep understanding of advertising/marketing campaign planning and creative development
  • Art direction or relevant photo/advertising composition background, with expertise in concepting and execution for multiple channels
  • Ability to create clear and convincing business cases for new approaches and resources
  • Extensive video experience, with broad range of direction at shoots.
  • Digital experience: including website, UI/UX, digital display advertising, e-mail, social media, YouTube, etc.
  • Proven success of amplifying a brand promise throughout the multi-channel customer journey
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong design, branding, emotional messaging, and storytelling, with examples across a wide range of consumer touchpoints (video/print/digital/social/retail/eComm/email/experiential/events)
  • Thought leadership with a customer focus in how to meaningfully connect audiences and brands across owned, earned, paid, and shared media
  • Advanced critical thinking and evaluation skills
  • Empathetic and open-minded with a high level of emotional intelligence who can drive engagement and instill trust
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced presenter with client contact
  • Ability to track high level campaigns and dive into the day-to-day project ensuring creative tactics are completed and on brand
PREFERRED:
  • Hands-on experience with applying design, copy and/or website practices and the industry standard creative tools (Adobe, SketchUp, etc.)
  • Have relationships with directors, production, and editorial studios
  • Familiar with internal workflow tool such as Basecamp, Workamjig, JIRA and/or Workfront and Microsoft Office Suite
