What You’ll Do: (job responsibilities)
- Cue sheet distribution to Global SMP affiliate offices and US PROs.
- Day-to-day entry and maintenance of business partners’ client and song data from cue sheets and varying data sets.
- Coordinate with responsible parties to obtain confirmed share(s) for split deliveries and amendments (internal SMP teams: Licensing, Income Tracking, Royalties, and Global SMP Affiliates; external business partners: Studio clients, performing rights organizations (PROs), collective management organizations (CMOs), record labels, and other income sources)
- Build relationships with business partners, SMP local offices, SMP Leadership and other music industry professionals to service clients.
- Provide research support and basic evaluation and analysis to assist with songwriter split disputes and administrative counterclaims.
- Working in conjunction with Atlassian JIRA products and platforms.
- Review PRO databases to ensure accurate and timely registrations.
- Coordinate and support special projects and growth initiatives to meet evolving business requirements.
- Other Administrative tasks on behalf of our clients - may include registrations with US Copyright Office and Commercial/Jingle registration.
Requirements
Who You Are: (skills and experience required)
- Bachelor Degree and prior internships or other music publishing administration experience is helpful. A fundamental understanding of copyright administration is preferred.
- Ability to draw conclusions from data and propose effective solutions.
- Leverage insights from previous experiences to enhance decision-making, problem-solving, and performance in future scenarios.
- Experience with problem solving and independent decision-making in complex, and sometimes vague situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Motivated to learn, develop, and retain new skills.
- Capacity to work in a highly collaborative team environment, as well as work independently.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations, directions, and deadlines.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume, customer service-oriented team.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and communicate with the team leader on a regular basis.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with strong research and analysis abilities.
- Competency with music business databases, and Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), or the equivalent.
- Experience working in Atlassian products and platforms (Jira, Confluence), or the equivalent is helpful.
- Some Travel Required (?)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume frequently require extended working hours for evening and late-night events.
