The Associate Producer of Katie & Company will play a pivotal role in supporting both the nationally syndicated radio show and Audacy’s Nashville studio operations. This position combines technical production expertise, content development, event and partnership management, and day-to-day show support to ensure seamless execution across studio, on-air, and live event environments.
The Associate Producer will be highly organized, proactive, and always three steps ahead—ensuring smooth production, maximizing content opportunities, and supporting sponsorship integration. The role also involves traveling with Katie Neal to major industry events such as the CMA Awards, ACM Awards, music festivals, and other industry gatherings to assist with on-site content creation and production.
This position requires a creative, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can balance both operational and production responsibilities, and is passionate about delivering premium content and experiences to listeners, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Responsibilities
**What You'll Do:Social & Digital Media Management **
- Content Planning & Strategy
- Develop and maintain a content roadmap for the show, organizing video and audio assets for both on-air and digital use.
- Assist with a weekly content planner outlining industry news, upcoming showcases, major concerts, and key social media moments.
- Collaborate with Katie on content ideation and strategy, ensuring fresh and engaging material.
- Assist with research on news, music, pop culture, and trending topics to support Katie with talking points.
- Ensure the show maintains its brand voice, consistency, and appeal to the target audience
- Monitor show quality and pacing, making adjustments as needed
- Ensure compliance with FCC and company broadcasting standards.
- Assist with contests, giveaways, and promotions tied to the show.
- Assist with preparing guest bios, background information, and segment notes ahead of interviews.
- Monitor listener calls, texts, and social media to identify strong on-air opportunities.
- Capture high-quality photos during and after interviews for promotional use.
- Assist in creating and managing social media content that aligns with the brand strategy.
- Manage Katie’s YouTube channel, overseeing content uploads, scheduling, and audience engagement to drive sustained growth.
- Oversees content population in Katie’s website, and writes Katie’s weekly newsletters
- Assist with coordinating content extensions (podcasts, social, web).
- Travel & On-Site Event Coverage
Travel with Katie to major industry events such as the CMA Awards, ACM Awards, festivals, and other key music industry gatherings.
Assist in producing on-site content, including interviews, social media updates, and behind-the-scenes coverage.
Studio & Scheduling Coordination
- Assist with managing the studio calendar, coordinating access for visiting Audacy shows and affiliates.
- Assist with supervising studio operations, recording sessions, and remote broadcasts
- Ensure all technical elements (sound effects, music beds, call-ins, etc.) are ready and executed smoothly.
- Help book guests and coordinate scheduling with publicists, managers, and record labels.
- Arrange call times, studio/remote logistics, and prep materials for hosts.
- Greet and manage guests on-site or virtually.
- Keep the studio clean, organized, and stocked to maintain a professional environment.
- Help with general production and operational tasks
- Assists with general maintenance and oversight of all technical operations in the Nashville studio
Content Archiving & Distribution
- Assist in logging and distributing content for Katie Neal and other Nashville-based initiatives into a content hub for future use and reference.
- Edit and produce audio clips, promos, and replay segments for use on-air and online.
- Distribute appropriate content to other nationally syndicated on-air personalities
- Distribute daily show recaps to the local markets with produced social pieces, and pieces that the local markets can put their branding on
- Manages affiliate distribution and Audacy distribution of Katie’s show
- Oversee daily editing and production of Katie’s show
Event & Partnership Management
- Oversee audio/visual operations and technical needs for the Nashville studio.
- Assist in planning and executing Nashville-based events, including Totally Private, Leadership Meetings, CMA Fest, CMA Awards, and future initiatives.
- Support Hard Rock partnerships
Requirements
Education/Work Experience
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience, is required.
- 1–2 years of experience with audio editing software and operating audio boards is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to take control in the studio and work as a self-starter.
- Meticulous work ethic to ensure high-quality audio and accurate content.
- Effective communication skills with team members and the public.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure and in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
- Ability to work well with others and take direction.
- Experience using Adobe Suite editing applications like Audition and Premiere Pro.
- Dependability and punctuality are a must.
- Employees of Audacy are required to be a minimum of 21 years of age to operate any vehicle, including Company-owned, leased, rented, or personal vehicles, when such operation is conducted on behalf of Audacy. Driving is an essential function of this role.
- A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the format and audience
- Strong Social Media and digital knowledge and experience.
- Experience in audio and sound production, including podcasting.
- Ability to contribute creative ideas and content to overall show planning.
Other Requirements
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
