Assistant Content Video Editor (LA Times Studios)
Description
- Edit video content for, style, and consistency across branded, digital, and social media projects.
- Import media and curate content across playout system for streaming platform.
- Facilitate daily programming of streaming platforms by revising, versioning and delivering final product.
- Ingest media across multiple productions into MAM (Media Asset Management) and setup projects for edit.
- Collaborate with producers and writers during content brainstorming sessions to provide technical expertise and creative input that aligns with project goals.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to manage project pipelines, ensuring workflows are efficient and timelines are clear.
- Support various stakeholders by monitoring project deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met, and maintaining consistent quality standards throughout the production process.
- Prepare finalized content for delivery to external clients across multiple verticals.
- Ensure accurate tagging and metadata application for online, broadcast and streaming platforms.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute updates and suggestions to improve workflows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in content editing or a related field.
- Proficiency in editing software and tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience editing for digital media platforms, social media content, or live streaming.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms.
- Detail-oriented with excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and implement editorial standards.
- Flexible and adaptive to evolving project needs and deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Strong command of English language grammar, style, and editorial best practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask across various projects.
- Solid understanding of video production workflows, file management, and post-production techniques.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Understanding of video formats, codecs, and compression techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Media Studies, or related field.
- Experience with Zype, Dalet or similar playout systems
- Experience in remote workflows.
- Understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) best practices.
- Strong storytelling instincts for a digital audience.
- Grasp of emerging AI trends and technologies.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design and multimedia tools is preferred.
