Summary
Create Music Group is currently looking for a A&R Assistant to join our Publishing department. This position is responsible for supporting the SVP of A&R, Publishing with all aspects of the signing and A&R administration process. This role requires strong client services skills, as well as a strong understanding of the music-making process.
Responsibilities
A&R Research/Lead Generation
Compile, manage and keep track of all music materials for future releases
Assemble copy and credits for album releases
Utilize online tools to research and analyze data on signed and unsigned artists
May be responsible for other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
1-3 years of work/internship experience or education in music publishing administration and/or A&R
Strong understanding of recording, production, and creative side of the business
General knowledge of key industry players and familiarity with all music
Handle confidential matters appropriately and with discretion
Experience working with collections societies (ASCAP, BMI, Harry Fox, etc.)
Experience with data management systems
Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
Experience with Label Engine or other music distribution services (Distrokid, Tunecore, CD Baby, etc)
Experience working with digital audio workstations (FL Studio, Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools)
Strong client services skills and ability to maintain and build relationships
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of internet culture and social media platforms, especially YouTube
Ability to conduct basic level research
Ability to organize large amounts of data efficiently
Proficiency with Mac OSX, Microsoft Office, and Google Apps
Excellent time management skills
