Sr. Manager, A&R Administration
Description
- Manage internal workflow for Red Bull Records recording across the roster, liaising between A&R, Artist Management, and all involved in recording process
- Onboard artists and new artists teams to begin recording cycle process, communicating company systems and best practices
- Work with A&R and artist management to prepare recording cost budgets and periodic forecasts in tandem with the Finance department and contractual commitments
- Manage and Prepare budget reforecast approval memos if needed; then circulate for approval
- Coordinate with A&R assistants and management for travel and accommodations for artists/writers during the recording/writing process
- Manage rates with studios, engineers, mixing, and mastering
- Process all recording related payments, getting new vendors set up and coding invoices for Finance team's review
- Partner with A&R to manage the mastering process, confirming music approval with senior management, cataloging assets, and disseminating approved music internally and externally
- Review deliverables before confirming approval and paying back-ends (completed producer/ /mixer agreement's; sample licenses; publishing splits; audio files submission )
- Partner with A&R and Business Affairs on sample and side artist clearing
- Track roster delivery commitments
- Alert Business Affairs, Head of label and Head of A&R when options are triggered for each artist
- Provide communication regarding the status of each project (i.e., providing budget projections to A&R, alerting business affairs of legal issues, notifying artist/management of production deadlines, advising senior management of potential project overages or delays)
- Maintain relationships on behalf of Red Bull Records with relevant attorneys, managers, engineers, and producers
- Attend A&R and all relevant meetings, providing updates and strategy
- Partner with the Marketing department to update recording delivery calendar
- Collaborate with Royalties to confirm that all questions are answered in preparation for quarterly statement rendering
- Manage archive system for all Global Music Assets and A&R audio through all recording stages
- Manage all audio storage and distribution accounts (Dropbox, Disco)
- Manage information, whether working with roster teams or assembling accurate publishing information and splits, credits, and lyrics
- Gather and archive label copy information and coordinate with digital department for audio ingestion
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role at a record company, publisher, or studio
- Heavy A&R Admin skills are a must (this is a non-Creative role); can manage high-volume
- Experience with accounting, budgets and other financial concepts; Experience with Excel spreadsheets required
- Awareness about how to keep costs down and broker deals
- Experience with the recording process, artist contracts, and recoupment provisions
