Description

As a manager of MIO’s Product Specialists, you will guide your team to support YouTube’s growing music operations in the US, Europe, and Asia, interacting with local collecting societies, music labels, and publishers who operate globally. Your team’s efforts will be related to helping both our product and engineering teams offer exceptional solutions to our global music partners and to helping our business teams operationalize, scale, and streamline global music business generation on YouTube.
Our team works closely with cross-regional teams covering YouTube business development, content operations, and legal. This role requires the ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders in engineering, product, and sales organizations.

Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspire and mentor your team to advocate for and deliver exceptional product solutions on behalf of YouTube’s music industry partners.
  • Influence and guide music product requirements that drive industry standardization toward scale for our global music operations.
  • Work cross-functionally across YouTube and Google teams to optimize and support the launches of new YouTube music products and services.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with YouTube’s content management system (CMS).
  • Experience in people management, managing a team, and attracting and growing talent.
  • Knowledge of digital music industry data exchange protocols (e.g., DDEX ERN/DSRF, CCID).
  • Knowledge of the global digital music industry across both publishing and label ecosystems.
  • Ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

YouTube

YouTube is a team-oriented, creative workplace where every single employee has a voice in the choices we make and the features we implement. We work together in small teams to design, develop, and roll out key features and products in very short time frames. Which means something you write today could be seen by millions of viewers tomorrow. And even though we’re a part of Google and enjoy all of the corporate perks, it still feels like you’re working at a startup. YouTube is headquartered in San Bruno, California, 12 miles south of San Francisco. We also have many job openings in Mountain View, and across the globe
