Event Manager - North America
Description
We are looking for Event Manager to join Utopia's marketing team and lead and oversee our event marketing efforts in North America. The ideal candidate will be able to create partnerships with external events and build world-class events of our own to deliver success for the Utopia business units and services. You will be responsible for operating events within your region as directed by the Events Director. You will be required to work independently, building relationships with key stakeholders across the business and with external partners.
Whether it is pre-Grammy parties or local association get-together, you will manage each project with a sense of pride and responsibility, delivering exceptional experiences across your region.
Responsibilities:
- Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives
- Come up with suggestions to enhance the event’s success
- Prepare budgets and ensure adherence
- Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
- Capability to coordinate all operations related to successful events
- Lead promotional activities for the event
- Supervise all staff (event coordinators, caterers etc.)
- Ensure event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur Analyze the event’s success and prepare reports
- Conduct research into event sponsorship opportunities
- Prepare presentations and event proposals
- Work with the wider Marketing Team (content, design, product) where required, clearly communicating project requirements and deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as event manager, ideally within live events or hospitality
- Skilled in project management
- Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
- Computer savvy; proficient in Google docs
- Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
- Excellent organizational skills
- A knack for problem-solving
- Customer-service orientation
- A team player with leadership skills
