Data Scientist

We are in search of a Data Scientist who can help unlock a greater understanding of our customers and our platform. You will lead the development of various technical solutions that address the data and information needs for teams across the company, with a particular focus within the marketing organization.
You will become an integral part of TIDAL and will develop the core of our marketing analytics and customer understanding. Those solutions will help bring to light actionable insights to improve business decisions and provide better experiences for our customers. Our tech stack currently includes AWS, Spark, Redshift, Postgres, Airflow, Tableau, and Databricks. You will report to the Head of Analytics.
  • Clarify loosely defined problems or business objectives across the marketing organization and devise useful metrics and technical solutions that support data-driven decision making
  • Partner with Data Engineering to implement analytics-specific data layers; this includes internal subscription and platform usage data, as well as enhancements from external vendors such as Google Analytics, Adjust, Braze, and other platforms in the marketing tech stack
  • Leverage latest methodologies in experimentation, modeling and statistical analysis to solve business problems, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Partner with Head of Analytics and Data Engineering to modernize preexisting data processes and team best practices
  • Troubleshoot issues in data pipelines and reporting packages


  • 4+ years of experience in quantitative analytics, data science, and analytical consulting
  • Experience with analytical SQL; this role will work with an array of disparate data sources so experience writing efficient, performance-optimized queries is a must
  • Familiarity with a programming language typically used for statistical analysis and machine learning (preferably Python)
  • Hands-on experience with self-service analytics tools (e.g.Tableau, Looker)
  • Training in econometrics and statistics, with experience applying the relevant methodologies; a thorough understanding of statistical inference is required
  • Familiarity with marketing concepts such as user segmentation, customer journeys, user churn and lifetime value
